Sugar for Sugar – Vol 1. 2025 Summer Sessions is an all-new 10-song set featuring of two originals, and reinvented deep country blues, ragtime and gospel pieces from The Carter Family, Blind Willie McTell & Curley Weaver, Blind Willie Johnson, Lil’ Son Jackson, Memphis Minnie, Sam McGee, Richard Rabbit Brown and Joe Callicott.
Recorded in late July, 2025. Catfish says, “Our 12th (and 13th!) album project at Luke Tweedy’s Flat Black Studios! Again, our man Luke captures the magic and sparkle of these cool and powerful old songs, we love working with him. All of those vintage-style guitars were ringing out so sweetly, this was so much fun to make. I keep digging in the treasure trove and finding more and more sublime pieces. Thank you for tuning in!”
